Oh, Rob. Rob, Rob, Rob. Rob. Robert Zombie. Really. You are, hands down, one of the best live performers I’ve ever seen and since I discovered White Zombie on a Beavis & Butthead compilation through to the acid-infused video for Dragula you’ve been my industrial hit. The Bargain Bucket has been inconspicuous for a while, but god damn if you’re not giving me good reason to get it out.

Mondo Sex Head is a remix album. The Deathstars’ remix album ended up in the Bucket too, partly because I don’t really see the point of a remix album. Have we come nowhere since the disastrous Re-animation from Jay-Z and Linkin Park? Or am I to assume that playing Whack-A Mole on a series of synthesisers is the next huge leap in music?

I could go on to say how Mondo Head has gone on to ruin any of the love I originally had for these classic tracks, growing up in the late 90s when MTV was phasing out music videos and MTV2 was still about rock music. So I will. The slightly livelier version of Pussy Liquor Ki _Theory Remix loses any semblance of niceness about a minute in and I’m left with a loose collection of 80s darkwave beats that were gathered up off the cutting room floor from a Sisters Of Mercy album.

So, in a nutshell, I don’t like remix albums. Safe to say, that Mondo Sex Head is a complete waste of time and money and you’d be better off dropping acid and trying DJ scratch Hellbilly Deluxe. I like an alternative album that actually adds something to what was originally there, see the ambitious but flaw Re-Animation from Linkin Park.

Only barely needed if you’re a complete and utter sycophant purest.
